Container Yard Operations & Sales Coordinator
Northwest Containers — Meridian, Idaho
Full-Time | $24–$30/hour + Performance Bonuses
Northwest Containers is a growing shipping container sales and delivery company based in Meridian, Idaho. We are looking for a dependable, motivated person who can handle a unique combination of yard operations, equipment operation, customer service, sales, and business development.
This is NOT a desk-only position.
We need someone who is just as comfortable operating Telehandler and working in the yard as they are talking with customers, following up on leads, and helping grow the business.
What You'll DoContainer Yard & Equipment Operations
- Safely operate a telehandler/forklift to load, unload, and organize shipping containers
- Assist with loading and unloading 20' and 40' shipping containers
- Meet customers at our Meridian container yard
- Show customers available containers and open container doors for inspections
- Help maintain an organized, professional and safe yard
- Coordinate container pickups and deliveries
- Inspect incoming and outgoing containers
- Assist drivers with loading and delivery preparation
- Perform basic container and yard maintenance as needed
Container Sales & Customer Service
- Respond to incoming container inquiries
- Follow up with customers who have requested pricing
- Help customers select the appropriate container
- Prepare quotes and coordinate sales and deliveries
- Follow up on Facebook Marketplace, phone and online leads
- Develop relationships with contractors, construction companies, farms, businesses and other container users
- Help generate new business through outbound calls and local outreach
Shared Business Development
Our Meridian facility is also home to our affiliated moving company, Superman Moving & Storage Express.
Part of this position will include helping with business development and customer outreach for the moving company when container operations allow, including:
- Realtor and property management outreach
- Following up with prospective moving customers
- Direct-mail and local marketing campaigns
- Developing commercial and residential referral relationships
- General customer service and sales support
- Dispatch Moving Crews
- Verify Trucks are ready for work
- wash trucks, clean cabs, organize boxes, hang straps, fold moving pads
- Daily Post card Mail out
- Customer call back, Quality Control.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day.
You should be comfortable switching between:
Operating a telehandler at 9:00 AM → showing a customer a container at 10:00 → following up on sales leads at 11:00 → helping organize the yard after lunch → contacting potential business customers in the afternoon.
Preferred Qualifications
- Telehandler, forklift, heavy equipment or similar equipment experience
- Strong mechanical awareness and good judgment around heavy equipment
- Sales or customer service experience
- Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Organized and able to work independently
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to work outdoors in Idaho weather
- Dependable and punctual
Shipping container experience is helpful but not required.
Compensation
$24–$30/hour depending on experience
Performance bonuses and/or sales incentives available for helping grow container sales and generate new business.

Northwest Containers is a locally operated shipping container company serving the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas. We sell and deliver 20' and 40' shipping containers from our Meridian yard.
We are building a growing operation and are looking for someone who wants more responsibility and opportunity than a typical warehouse or equipment-operator position.
For the right person, this position has the opportunity to grow into a key operations and management role as the company expands.
