Blue Diamond Design & Build is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent / Safety Coordinator to support our growing commercial construction division. This position will work directly alongside our superintendents and project management team to help manage field operations, enforce safety standards, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain project documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field, takes safety seriously, and wants to grow into a larger superintendent or project management role.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and safety meetings.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with OSHA requirements and site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain safety documentation, JHAs, JSAs, permits, and incident reports.
- Coordinate deliveries, material staging, and site logistics.
- Document project progress with photographs and daily reports.
- Assist with quality control inspections and punch lists.
- Help enforce company standards for cleanliness, organization, and professionalism.
- Participate in owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings as needed.
- Monitor site conditions and identify potential safety or schedule risks.
- Assist during utility shutdowns, tie-ins, and critical construction activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial construction field experience.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and construction software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Required Certifications
Candidates must possess the following certifications:

✔ OSHA-Compliant First Aid Certification (Required)
✔ CPR Certification (Required)
✔ AED Certification (Required)

Preferred Qualifications
- EM 385 or additional safety training.
- Experience with JHA/JSA development.
- Previous superintendent, foreman, or safety coordinator experience.
- Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, industrial, or occupied facility construction.
- Knowledge of Buildertrend, Procore, or similar construction management software.
