Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, including IV infusions and aseptic preparations.
- Assist with medication intake, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation for patient records.
- Support critical care and acute care units by managing medication inventories and ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and coordinating with healthcare providers.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during compounding and medication preparation processes.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately to document prescriptions, patient information, and pharmacy records.
- Support hospital staff with medication administration procedures, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of LTC pharmacy practices.
- Critical care experience or hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and IV infusion procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional patient service and support patient care initiatives.
- Familiarity with medication administration processes within acute or hospital settings.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in intake, documentation, and inventory management.
