Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence to ensure safety during examinations and procedures
- Assist veterinarians with dental procedures, including understanding dental terminology and performing dental cleanings and extractions
- Conduct laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures using veterinary laboratory equipment
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols
- Support anesthesia administration, including monitoring vital signs during general anesthesia and critical care cases
- Collect samples for diagnostic radiology and radiology diagnostics, including X-ray imaging and interpretation under supervision
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgical procedures, catheterizations, IV insertions, and other invasive techniques
- Provide pet care and animal husbandry to promote recovery and comfort for hospitalized animals
- Assist with emergency medicine cases by providing critical support in intensive care settings
- Operate medical equipment efficiently for diagnostic purposes such as radiographs or laboratory testing
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to manage multiple species effectively
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary technician practices
- Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet grooming to ensure safe interactions
- Experience with anesthesia protocols including general anesthesia management and vascular access techniques
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy (blood collection), pet grooming, pet care, and diagnostic radiology
- Ability to operate medical equipment related to radiology diagnostics, critical & intensive care units, and anesthesia machines
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols for rapid response situations involving animals in distress or critical condition
