Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components using sheet metal techniques, press brake machines, and metal sheer.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
- Operate measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, shop math calculations, and other precision tools to meet project specifications.
- Manage warehouse inventory by organizing materials, tracking supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of fabricated parts for ongoing projects.
- Install HVAC systems with attention to detail, adhering to safety protocols and building codes such as ASME standards.
- Perform construction site tasks including rigging, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and assembly of mechanical systems.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment; follow all safety procedures diligently.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and execute fabrication or installation tasks efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and company policies throughout all phases of work.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of rigging, pipe threading, ductwork, and assembly processes.
- Skilled in reading blueprints, mechanical blueprints interpretation, shop math calculations, and technical drawing analysis.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately for fabrication tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing fabrication shop experience, metal materials handling, machining operations, soldering, press brake operation, and pipe threading.
- Experience with construction equipment including cranes; familiarity with rigging techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to piping and pressure vessels; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
- Competence in using power tools like grinders, drills, saws along with hand tools for precise fabrication and installation work.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems assembly within commercial or industrial settings; ability to interpret technical drawings confidently.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication shop tasks; familiarity with welding symbols is a plus.
