Level II: $1,946.53 - $2,146.05 bi-weekly- Current County employees may be eligible for a higher step placement per the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The County of Del Norte Tax Collector's Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Revenue Recovery Specialist II. This position is classified as full-time.
To perform a full range of County collection functions in support of the County Tax Collector’s Office. To collect and service delinquent accounts for various County departments. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Essential job duties may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Preforms a wide scope of complex and specialized technical financial and statistical record keeping work; maintains and updates account receivables in various computer programs.

Investigates delinquent accounts for collections of monies due, gathers and investigates financial information from credit sources.

Uses a variety of methods and procedures for locating absent taxpayers.

Establish payments plans for delinquent tax payers.
- Prepare levy notices to financial institutions against delinquent tax payers

Maintains the mobile home transfer program by issuing demands for security deposits and issuing mobile home tax clearance certificates as requested by taxpayers and title and escrow companies.

Assists the Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector in the processes of preparing for a Tax Deed Sale, which include reviewing and editing legal documents and publications.

Field inquiries from the general public, realtors, title companies and mortgage companies related to property taxes, tax delinquency, special assessments and transient occupancy taxes.

Receives legal documents; examines documents for completeness and conformity to requirements; return unacceptable documents; prepare files for new clients. Prepares new collection fee schedules according to legal code requirements; assign internal trust numbers; set-up billing codes; update computer program.

Collect payments, issue receipts, balance cash drawers; deposit collections into County Collector Trust for distribution; reconciles daily and monthly collections and distributions; field collections.

Prepare month-end distribution of payments, prepare transfers, prepare warrants to restitution victims, prepare reports to referring departments regarding monthly collections and balances; prepare monthly collection report to the Board of Supervisors; Prepare and send monthly client billings; prepare judgments for recording, prepare judgment satisfactions.

Verify, enter, retrieve, correct, maintain, and update information in computer collection system; maintain a variety of financial/statistical records.

Assists other departmental personnel in performance of other duties; perform related duties as required.

Knowledge of modern office methods, practices and terminology as it pertains to financial record keeping.

Sufficient skills in reading, math, written and verbal communications necessary to perform journeyman level work.

Ability to type accurately at a rate sufficient to perform duties on a satisfactory basis.

Ability to operate with a high degree of productivity and accuracy from both written and oral instructions.

Basic clerical skills and knowledge of various forms typically acquired in one or two years of clerical experience in a business environment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow workers and/or other county department representatives.
