Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Experienced Wireless Top Hand Climber, specializing in high-voltage telecommunications infrastructure across the New York/New Jersey region. In this vital role, you will perform expert climbing and rigging tasks to install, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless communication systems, including 5G, 4G/LTE, and 3G networks. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of telecommunication services by working safely at heights and handling complex cabling and fiber splicing projects. T
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Top Hand climber on structures exceeding 300 feet
- Install antennas, mounts, RRHs, TMAs, fiber, coax, microwave dishes, waveguides, and associated equipment
- Perform equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, repairs, removals, and alignments
- Utilize JMA connectors and compression tools
- Perform sweep testing (preferred)
- Direct and support tower crew members with technical guidance and leadership
- Conduct advanced rigging, hoisting, and lifting operations
- Conduct job hazard analyses and daily safety briefings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, carrier, and company safety standards
- Interpret construction drawings, RF scopes, and carrier specifications
- Complete daily reports, closeout documentation, and site photos
- Travel overnight (1–2 days as needed)
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of wireless tower climbing experience
- Proven experience working as a Top Hand
- Experience on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile networks
- Experience with microwave dish, waveguide, coax, and fiber installations
- Strong understanding of wireless construction standards
- Ability to work safely at heights and in varying outdoor environments
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 for Construction
- RF Safety Awareness
- Competent Rigger
- CPR / First Aid
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Climb and work at heights for extended periods
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
