We’re looking for a Survey Party Chief to join our Engineering Department. In this role, you will perform a variety of technical, skilled survey engineering work in the field. You’ll serve as a lead over the survey crew. This role works under the direction of the City Surveyor or Assistant Surveyor.
About You:
You enjoy working outdoors, using equipment, and being hands-on with your work. As a leader, you take initiative, help coordinate field activities, provide guidance and support to crew members, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You pay close attention to detail, follow instructions carefully, and take pride in accurate measurements and quality results. You can read maps and plans, perform math calculations confidently, and communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, clients, and the public. You are comfortable working on active construction sites, maintaining situational awareness, enforcing safety procedures, and serving as a positive example for the team at all times. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent

Two (2) years of related technical or college-level coursework in surveying, with sufficient education to perform arithmetic calculations, to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, charts, and maps, and to maintain records and prepare reports.

Five (5) years of field experience performing survey work.

Some experience leading survey crews.

Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid Arizona State Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.

Must be physically capable of moving about on construction work sites.
