General OR
Work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operating room with 18 ORs supporting New Mexico’s only Level I trauma program. Schedules are typically 3x12-hour shifts with self-scheduling and call rotation.
Pediatric OR Mon-Fri 4x10 Shifts
Provide specialized surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents in a supportive, family-centered environment at New Mexico’s only children’s hospital.
Ophthalmology / Eye Surgery Mon-Fri 4x10 Shifts
Support specialized ophthalmology and eye surgery services in a collaborative perioperative setting.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients
Assist with procedures and special tests
Administer medications and communicate clinical findings
Collaborate with the healthcare team on individualized care plans
Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and families
Support patient safety policies, procedures, and protocols
Participate in orientation, education, and professional development
Serve as a clinical resource, preceptor, or relief charge nurse when designated
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
Active New Mexico RN license or eligibility through reciprocal agreement
CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of start date
Ability to obtain UNMH IV Verification within 6 months
Ability to complete required unit-based competencies and certifications
Preferred Qualifications
BSN
OR, perioperative, trauma, pediatric, surgical services, ophthalmology, or inpatient nursing experience
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
National certification in area of specialty

Surgical Services Peri-Op Program
6 month program working 4x10hr shifts to develop OR Nurse skills for RN's without prior OR experience. The majority of training is conducted on the day shift with one rotation on the night shift. The program consists of classroom didactics and on the job training with preceptors in the different service specialties.
Pay: $36.18 - $47.96 per hour
