Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular/Open Heart ICU Registered Nurse to join the Coronary Care/PACU unit at a hospital in Manhattan NY. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, including ICU and open heart surgery recovery, and demonstrate proficiency with advanced medical procedures and EPIC EMR system. You will play a key role in patient assessment, intervention, and education, ensuring optimal outcomes in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients recovering from open-heart and major cardiovascular surgeries.
- Continuously monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs using advanced monitoring equipment.
- Assess and manage patients requiring ventilator support, vasoactive infusions, and mechanical circulatory support devices.
- Recognize and respond rapidly to post-operative complications, including arrhythmias, bleeding, cardiac tamponade, and hemodynamic instability.
- Administer and titrate IV medications, including inotropes, vasopressors, anticoagulants, and sedatives, in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
Experience
- NY RN License
- Active BLS and ACLS Certifications
- Critical care experience IV Insertion and phlebotomy skill Conscious sedation
- 2 years of recent Cardiovascular/Open Heart ICU experience
