Job Summary
Hyde Beauty & Wellness Spa is looking for a Massage Therapist Apprentice to join our team as an apprentice in massage therapy. This program will help you obtain your license through the State of Utah in Massage Therapy. Please note; this is an education only position with tips only as compensation once you start clinicals. Additionally, once the program is completed and the MBLEX is passed this position could potentially lead to an offer with the company as a full time massage therapist. While this position only includes tips received for services during your apprenticeship this opportunity will save you from having to pay the fees associated with paying for massage school and provides an abundance of hands on experience with real massage world experience LMT's instructing. There are a required amount of hands on clinical hours in which client tips are yours to keep. Our apprentices have shown growth greater than people attending school, and better prepared for the working environment.
Responsibilities
Part time and full time positions available. Will be working directly under a team of massage instructors. Program includes; a certain amount of hours helping reception, book work, hands on and ongoing training opportunities.
- Assist licensed therapists in preparing treatment rooms and setting up equipment for client sessions
- Observe and learn proper massage techniques including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy
- Support patient service by welcoming clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring a positive experience
- Participate in patient assessment processes to understand client concerns and tailor treatments accordingly
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards of treatment areas in compliance with health regulations
- Document client information accurately, including notes on physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology as instructed
- Engage in ongoing learning about pain management strategies and occupational health practices
Qualifications
- Passion for helping others through wellness and therapeutic practices
- Basic knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Willingness to learn about patient assessment techniques and massage modalities such as deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work collaboratively within a team environment
- Prior experience in med spa or occupational health settings is a plus but not required
- Must be committed to completing the apprenticeship program with enthusiasm and dedication
