Position Description:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Controller in managing all accounting and financial reporting activities of the organization. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, supports financial planning and analysis, ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and provides financial leadership to support business objectives. In a manufacturing environment, the position also plays a critical role in cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
· Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
· Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
· Analyze financial results and explain variances against budget, forecast, and prior year performance.
· Process monthly Payroll entries.
· Process weekly payments to vendors.
· Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
· Experience with Trade Spend Analysis.
· Monitor inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.
· Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital expenditure tracking.
· Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
· Coordinate and lead internal and external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and resolution of audit findings.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Partner with operations and plant leadership to drive cost control, profitability improvement, and operational efficiency.
· Support ERP system improvements, reporting automation, and process enhancement initiatives.
· Serve as a key business partner to management by providing financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
· Act as backup to the Controller and support special projects and corporate initiatives as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred.
· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing and cost accounting.
· Experience managing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Cost Accounting, and Financial Reporting within an ERP environment.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, inventory accounting, budgeting, and internal controls.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
· Proven ability to manage audits, lead teams, and support cross-functional business operations.
· Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and financial analysis tools.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
