Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu options, offering recommendations when appropriate.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards, including cocktail and beverage service.
- Process sales transactions smoothly, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods responsibly.
- Upsell menu items such as wine, spirits, or specialty cocktails to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, including bussing tables and assisting with food handling safety.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any guest concerns professionally.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is highly preferred; experience with fine dining or high-volume restaurants is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for processing sales transactions accurately.
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to connect positively with diverse guests.
- Knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and bill splitting confidently.
- Food safety certification or knowledge of sanitation practices is desirable; culinary or kitchen experience can be an advantage.
