This is a true leadership development role. The Construction Trainer / Coach is responsible for building high-performing construction teams by coaching Project Managers, Foremen, and field crews in leadership, production systems, quality standards, accountability, and execution. You will spend significant time in the field mentoring team members, improving jobsite performance, reinforcing company systems, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Performance Objectives
- Develop, coach, and mentor Project Managers, Foremen, and construction crews to consistently deliver outstanding project results.
- Build high-performing teams that execute projects safely, efficiently, on time, and on budget.
- Create a culture of ownership, professionalism, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Train field leaders on Pacific Outdoor Living's construction systems, production standards, and best practices.
- Reinforce proper sequencing, installation procedures, and quality standards through hands-on field coaching and jobsite training.
- Mentor Foremen and Project Managers to improve leadership skills, communication, production management, and crew accountability.
- Conduct regular field observations, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.
- Identify production bottlenecks and proactively solve field issues before they impact schedules, quality, or customer satisfaction.
- Improve workmanship, production efficiency, safety performance, and overall jobsite execution.
- Partner with Operations and Executive Leadership to continuously improve construction systems and field performance.
- Help develop future leaders within the organization by providing ongoing coaching and leadership development.
- Deliver projects through people by creating teams capable of producing exceptional customer experiences.

Education & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of construction project management or field leadership experience required.
- Experience managing landscape construction, hardscape installation, outdoor living, or residential construction projects preferred.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing Foremen, Project Managers, or construction crews.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scheduling, production management, and field operations.
- Demonstrated success improving team performance and operational execution.
Requirements
- Ability to commute daily to the San Luis Obispo office and projects throughout the county.
- Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to walk jobsites and work outdoors as needed.
- Strong computer skills including project management software, email, and reporting tools.
- Successful applicants for this role will be required to participate in pre-employment aptitude assessments.
