The Co-op Family Center in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a passionate educator to join our team! The position we have available is the PreK/K Co-Lead Teacher.

Required Qualifications: Teacher Qualified in both Infant/Toddler and Preschool age groups
Have attained one of the following options (A, B, C, D, or E):
A. At least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience * in a Certified Child Care Center, or comparable group care program ** in the appropriate age levels
B. One year or 1,500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in Registered Family or Certified Family child care
C. Documentation of attaining at least a Step 6 in the Oregon Registry OR 9 quarter credit in two CKCs (3 must be in HGD or UGB)
D. A minimum of an Associate’s Degree from a college or university with a major in:
· Early childhood education
· Child development
· Special education
· Elementary education (preschool age and older only)
· Human development
· Child and family studies
E. A state or nationally recognized credential, e.g. Child Development Associate (CDA)
*Qualifying Teaching Experience means:
For infant/toddler and preschool age groups, gained with a group of the same age children in at least 3-hour blocks, within a 36-month period; Qualifying teaching experience must be documented. Time spent in a college practicum or practice teaching is considered qualifying teaching experience. The following does constitute qualifying teaching experience: leader of a scout troop; Sunday school teacher; and coaching.
**Comparable group care program means: Program has the following elements:
(a) Individuals are supervised by knowledgeable professionals;
(b) Training of individuals is provided or required annually;
(c) Group size is similar to a certified child care facility;
(d) Curriculum is age appropriate; and
(e) The program is not providing uncertified drop-in care
Preferred Qualifications:
- A commitment to lifelong learning and advocacy for young children's rights and capabilities.
- Experience with or a strong interest in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, fine arts, and/or nature-based learning.
- A collaborative and open-minded approach to teaching, valuing multiple perspectives and points of view.
- Education and/or experience working with children with special needs.
Pay Rate:
Co-Lead Classroom Teachers: $18.00-21.00/hour based on experience and education.
Hours:
37.5 hours/week: Shifts are 7:00am-3:00pm and 9:30am-5:30pm

· Excellent classroom ratios (below state ratios):
-1 adult per 3 children in Infant and Wobbler rooms (the Infant room begins the school year with 1 adult per 2 children and switches to 1:3 in January)
-1 adult per 4 children in the Toddler room
-1 adult per 6 children in the Preschool room
-1 adult per 7 children in the PreK/K room
-1 adult per 9 children in the School-age room
