Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety standards
- Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury during transfers and repositioning
- Maintain cleanliness by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and room tidying
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and behavioral management techniques
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for client transportation when necessary
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate attitude towards seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility tasks safely
