Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. In this vital role, you will ensure that all areas are kept hygienic, organized, and welcoming for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas
- Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely according to established safety protocols and procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure optimal floor care and sanitation
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment following safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas in compliance with sanitation standards
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities
Skills
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices
- Strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial vacuums
- Excellent manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices
- Customer service orientation to address the needs of staff or visitors politely and professionally
- Experience in facilities maintenance or general custodial duties is preferred
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining a clean environment
