Heartland Early Education is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our food service program. This position plays an important role in ensuring nutritious meals are prepared, transported, and served to students while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of food items for students and school personnel

Transport and distribute meals and food items throughout the facility

Maintain kitchen equipment, work areas, and facilities in a clean and sanitary condition

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and kitchen organization

Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications

Must enjoy working with children

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and food safety

Ability to follow directions and maintain a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications

Sanitation training

Experience in institutional food service

Experience with school meal programs
