Job Title: Day/Night Shift Log Yard Truck Driver (Non-CDL)

Key Responsibilities

Log Transport: Operate log trucks within the sawmill yard to move logs from storage to designated production areas.

Yard Maneuvering: Safely navigate trucks in confined spaces, around heavy machinery, log decks, and other vehicles.

Inventory Support: Assist with staging, organizing, and sorting logs to support continuous mill production.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues, leaks, or damage to supervisors.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all yard traffic patterns, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.

Communication: Coordinate with loader operators, crane operators, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience operating log trucks is mandatory.

Licensing: A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required, as the position operates exclusively within the yard.

Skills: Strong understanding of log yard safety and ability to operate in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Dependability: Strong attendance record and ability to work as part of a team
Physical Requirements

Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per shift.

Typical Schedule

12-hour shifts.

Often includes 60 hours per week (5-day work week with occasional weekends).
