About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Buyer I to support procurement operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for purchasing direct materials, maintaining supplier relationships, issuing purchase orders, monitoring inventory requirements, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have procurement experience within a manufacturing environment and strong experience using an ERP system for purchasing and material planning.
This is a 100% onsite opportunity in Northridge, California, working Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Purchase direct materials to support production schedules.
- Create and manage purchase orders and purchase requisitions.
- Monitor supplier performance and on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to ensure material availability.
- Analyze inventory levels, purchasing requirements, and material usage.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage procurement, purchasing, and MRP activities.
- Review purchasing history and inventory trends to support production planning.
- Assist with supplier sourcing, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Support Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) and CAPA activities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Procurement and Supply Chain.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
- Experience purchasing direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience using an ERP platform for procurement and purchasing, such as:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- SAP
- Oracle Fusion
- Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)
- JD Edwards (JDE)
- Other Microsoft ERP platforms
- Experience with MRP planning and purchasing processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday in Northridge, CA.
