A technical education and safety instructor is responsible for designing curriculum, developing lesson plans and delivering impactful classroom safety instruction for journey workers and apprentices. To be successful in this position, the candidate should have experience working as a Safety Director within our industry or a degree in Industrial Hygiene. Candidates must have experience as safety leaders in the construction industry with current credentials to be an MSHA Approved Instructor or a minimum of three to five years of mining or pit experience to be qualified to obtain a MIIN# to become an MSHA Approved Instructor. Candidates should display classroom leadership and be capable of transferring knowledge related to First aid/CPR, Hazmat, OSHA, Competent Person, MSHA, Confined Space and Asbestos safety hazard awareness. The right candidate will be responsible for attaining and maintaining their own technical safety instruction certifications required to instruct safety classes as well as continually updating interactive online and classroom presentations. Travel and/or working on weekends will be required for this position.
Essential Functions
1. Classroom and Online instruction.
2. Ability to lead and facilitate online or classroom activities.
3. Works with the Training Director to develop curriculum to meet program requirements.
4. The ability to implement the curriculum criteria for CPR/first aid, OSHA, Competent Person, MSHA, Hazmat, Confined Space and Asbestos.
5. Coordinates with contractors to tailor customized training.

Supervisory Responsibility
Responsible for our members Safety and Hazard training, ensuring the student understands both the practical safety skills required as well as the State and Federal regulations to assess and respond accordingly to all safety hazards that may be encountered while at work in our industry.

Applicants must possess a valid class driver’s license with no restrictions and no major driving citations in the last 5 years.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting annual salary of $111,009.60 with a 6-month probationary period & review (yearly salary increases)
