Overview

Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Help with meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, including signs of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's <PERSON> to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Assist with documentation of care plans, patient observations, and incident reports accurately and promptly
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents’ well-being and social engagement
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs
Requirements
- Valid certification as a CNA or PCA; additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or HIPAA compliance are highly desirable
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, or home health environments is preferred
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing early signs of health issues
- Knowledge of infection control practices and maintaining a clean environment through proper cleaning procedures
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
