What you'll do:

Provide one-on-one supervision and companionship to assigned residents as directed by nursing staff

Support residents in a manner that promotes their rights, dignity, privacy, independence, and personal choices

Engage residents in appropriate activities such as reading, music, games, television, crafts, conversation, and permitted walks
-
Observe residents for changes in social interaction, mood, behavior, or potential safety concerns and promptly report concerns to the Charge Nurse
-
Redirect residents when appropriate while following established care plans and instructions from nursing staff
-
Provide companionship and positive social interaction
-
Assist with meal and dining room setup and cleanup
-
Complete other appropriate non-clinical duties as assigned

What we're looking for:
-
High school diploma, equivalent, or current enrollment in high school
-
Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand instructions necessary to safely perform assigned job duties
-
Compassionate and respectful approach when working with residents
-
Dependable, patient, and comfortable working as part of a healthcare team
-
Must meet applicable background, registry, and employment eligibility requirements
-
Must have no disqualifying findings related to abuse, neglect, mistreatment, or misappropriation of resident property as required by applicable state and federal regulations
-
Feeding Assistant and behavior-related training/certification as required for assigned duties; training is provided in-house if not already completed
Physical Requirements:
-
Standing and walking for extended periods
-
Using a full range of body motion necessary for assigned duties
-
Lifting, pushing, or pulling approximately 50-100 pounds when required
-
Assisting with heavier resident-related movement with appropriate assistance, equipment, and established safety procedures

Working in an environment where exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases may occur
-
Having sufficient vision and hearing, with or without assistive devices, to safely perform the essential functions of the position
