Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medication following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
- Support clients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts, ensuring safety during movement
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with care standards
- Observe and document changes in clients’ condition or behavior, communicating promptly with healthcare teams or family members
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes setting
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide direct support tailored to individual needs
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Competence in CPR and First Aid certification for emergency response readiness
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility devices; stamina for long shifts
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Experience working within care plans, medication administration protocols, and patient monitoring procedures
