Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation.
- Administer medications via various routes, including injections and IV infusions, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex clinical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide emergency response interventions in critical situations, including airway management and acute pain management.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, medication usage, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and infection control protocols.
- Support discharge planning processes by coordinating follow-up care and community resources.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse in diverse settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing, and aseptic technique.
- Expertise in specialized areas such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), trauma medicine at Level I or II trauma centers, pediatric or neonatal care (PICU), hospice & palliative medicine, or infectious disease management.
- Ability to perform complex assessments involving physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, laboratory procedures, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care settings.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas like pain management, geriatrics, behavioral health, or family planning.
