Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, whether they are residing in a nursing home, assisted living facility, or receiving hospice and memory care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving and a genuine desire to help others.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor clients’ health and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff or family members.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nursing home aide, hospice care worker, or memory care assistant is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic nursing skills and social work principles can enhance effectiveness in this role.
- A compassionate demeanor and strong interpersonal skills are essential for building trusting relationships with clients.
