As a Personal Injury Attorney, you will manage cases from intake through settlement, ensuring timely and effective representation. This includes investigating claims, developing strategies, negotiating settlements, and providing exceptional client service while maintaining compliance and leveraging a case management system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage cases from intake to settlement, including client engagement, contracts, agreements, and documentation.
- Evaluate and investigate cases by reviewing claims, gathering evidence, analyzing liability and damages, and preparing case plans.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders (adjusters, providers, witnesses) to gather information, build trust, and provide regular updates.
- Review and summarize medical records and other supporting documentation to strengthen case valuation and negotiation strategies.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including claims, demand letters, motions, discovery responses, pleadings, subpoenas, and memorandums.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing parties to achieve favorable, cost-effective outcomes.
- Provide legal guidance and representation at mediations, depositions, hearings, and other proceedings as needed.
- Monitor cost of cases to ensure compliance with firm policies and client agreements.
- Stay current on legislation and legal practices through ongoing training and professional development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:
- Juris Doctorate degree with admission to the Bar in Colorado.
- 1–4 years of experience in personal injury or related areas of practice.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Solid understanding of Tort Law and core legal principles, with familiarity in insurance claims processes and settlement negotiations.
- Experienced in drafting demand letters, settlement agreements, and other legal documentation, as well as reviewing claims and evidence.
- Skilled in managing cases from intake through settlement, including client onboarding, contract execution, and accurate documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, supported by proficiency in legal research to evaluate claims and develop case strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain legal processes and case status to clients.
- Skilled in negotiation and persuasion to achieve favorable settlements with insurance companies and opposing parties.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for building trust and maintaining professional relationships with clients, adjusters, and medical providers.
- Proficient in using MS Office applications and case management software, with the ability to work in a paperless environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with personal injury cases.
