Local Foods Kitchen is looking for a dependable Morning Sous Chef to take full ownership of our morning operations, fuel our breakfast rush, and set the tone for the entire culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Breakfast Service: Drive the line during morning hours throughout the week, ensuring high culinary quality, consistent plating, and efficient ticket times.
- Delivery Intake & Logistics: Receive, inspect, log, and put away truck deliveries. Maintain spotless walk-in coolers, dry storage, and strict FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation.
- Daily Prep Execution: Lead batch prep, knife work, and station setup for both morning service and upcoming afternoon production.
- Kitchen Standards & Safety: Maintain strict sanitation protocols, temperature logs, and food safety standards at all times.
- Team Leadership: Work alongside the Executive Chef to mentor junior staff, keep morning energy high, and step in wherever needed on the line.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of kitchen experience in a leadership or senior prep/line cook role.
- Early-bird mindset with reliable transportation for early morning starts.
- Physical capacity to lift, carry, and maneuver truck inventory boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Active ServSafe or food handler certification.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational habits, and composure under morning rush pressure.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
