Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Serve food, beverages, and cocktails efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, including sales transactions processing and handling tips
- Upsell menu items, including wines, spirits, and specialty cocktails, to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning service areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine pairings, spirits, and menu items to elevate the dining experience
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on guest relations
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; OpenTable experience is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while managing time effectively
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Culinary or food industry experience preferred; knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards essential
- Beverage expertise including cocktail making, wine knowledge, spirits experience, and beverage service skills
- Previous fine dining or hospitality experience highly desirable; serving or host/hostess background is advantageous
