Animal Care Attendant (ACA)
Position Summary
The Animal Care Attendant is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. This role supports the veterinary team by assisting with patient care, monitoring animal health, and ensuring pets receive proper daily care and enrichment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, bedding, and enrichment.
- Monitor animals for changes in health or behavior and report concerns immediately.
- Safely restrain animals for exams, vaccinations, blood draws, and treatments.
- Perform teeth brushing and other basic patient care tasks.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure pets are properly identified.
- Clean and sanitize cages, runs, exam rooms, laundry, dishes, and common areas.
- Follow all CityVet policies and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Calm, compassionate, and professional in stressful situations.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
