SUMMARY:
We are a specialty subcontractor looking for a motivated Class A driver to join our team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the loading, off-loading and delivery of products and construction equipment to various jobsites. (Overnight stays minimal)
- Ensure truck is properly loaded and load secured; truck is in operational condition and product/equipment is delivered timely and safely.
- Proper usage of personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment and reports repairs to personnel.
- Assists in yard functions and warehousing.
- Maintains high level of customer service through courteous and effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Keeps proper records and documents daily activities.
- Perform other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid California Class "A" Driver’s License
- Clean DMV record
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experienced in operating a variety of industrial construction equipment. Forklift certified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing and ascending/descending stairs.
- Requires sitting for relatively long periods of time, while driving.
- Requires frequent bending, climbing, movement and heavy lifting during physical loading/unloading of trucks and when stocking products.
- Ability to negotiate construction work areas in a safe manner and behavior.
- Performing the duties, the employee will regularly be in an active onsite construction environment where they will be exposed to moving mechanical components & equipment.
