Summary:
The Journeyman Electrician plans, lays out , installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and controls equipment, as well as directing and training Electrician Helpers to do the same.
Essential Duties:

Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv

Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.

P&ID /Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.

Working knowledge of National Electric Code

Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock-out tag-out procedures

Identify conduit and hardware
-
Measure, cut and thread conduit
-
Pull cable and wire conduit
-
Identify cable tray and hardware
-
Fabricate and install hangars and brackets
-
Mount junction boxes
-
Figure, cut and install cable tray with offsets
-
Perform cad weld grinding
-
Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
