Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following standardized recipes and menu guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking surfaces
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure freshness and quality of food items
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery times for optimal service flow
- Support catering events or special meal requests by preparing large quantities of food with precision and consistency
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or food service environments
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and kitchen sanitation practices
- Skilled in knife techniques, slicing methods, and general food industry best practices
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is required
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, catering experience, and food safety management is highly desirable
