Position Summary
The Routing Coordinator supports daily transportation operations by developing efficient delivery and pickup routes, maintaining routing and customer information, and providing operational support to drivers and logistics teams. This position is responsible for ensuring timely product movement, maximizing route efficiency, minimizing transportation costs, and contributing to a positive customer experience through effective coordination and communication.
Key Responsibilities

Create and optimize daily delivery and pickup routes using routing and mapping software to maximize efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and support customer service objectives.

Monitor route performance and make real-time adjustments in response to traffic conditions, delivery issues, order changes, weather events, or other operational challenges.

Maintain accurate customer, delivery, routing, and transportation data within company systems and databases.

Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers by answering route-related questions, providing support, and resolving transportation concerns.

Coordinate with shipping, customer service, production, and transportation teams to ensure deliveries and pickups are completed accurately and on time.

Prepare, distribute, and maintain routing reports, shipping documentation, manifests, and other transportation records.

Identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, service levels, and overall transportation performance.

Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, printing, record retention, and electronic communications.

Support seasonal and peak-volume operations, including occasional evening, weekend, or extended-hour work as business needs require.

Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation procedures.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in logistics, routing, dispatching, transportation coordination, shipping, or a related operational environment.

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.

Strong geographic knowledge and the ability to interpret maps, routing software, and transportation systems.

Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, GPS platforms, or logistics planning tools.

Experience in greenhouse, agriculture, distribution, retail delivery, or perishable goods operations.

Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
Job Setting & Physical Demands
This position is primarily based in an office environment and requires frequent use of computers, telephones, and standard office equipment. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, occasional standing and walking, and regular communication with drivers, customers, and internal team members. Periodic visits to shipping, warehouse, and transportation areas may be required. The employee must occasionally lift and move office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
