Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc or similar controls to produce precise parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC machines utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and CNC programming techniques to optimize machining processes
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate production
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine setup or part assembly when required
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, quality checks, and machine maintenance logs while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining operations including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM programming software is highly desirable
- Ability to read complex blueprints with GD&T specifications accurately
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems; ability to troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues efficiently
- Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings
- Excellent hand-eye coordination; attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
