Essential Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator | BIM Modeler is responsible for the technical bridge between design intent and physical fabrication. The primary objective of this role is to utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) to facilitate an accurate, efficient, and data-driven project execution while maintaining an excellent client experience.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specifications and scope of work
- Develop high-fidelity 3D models and shop drawings using Revit/AutoCAD (or current software) incorporating Elward’s scope of work to meet the design intent
- Manage BIM coordination workflows, including clash detection and resolution with other trades
- Ability to visualize complex 3D shapes and translate them into flat-pattern fabrication data
- Work with estimating, customer, and design team to resolve technical details through the model
- Incorporate design team redlines and field-verified dimensions into the BIM model
- Produce fabrication packages directly from models to maintain production schedules and coordinate shipping logistics
- Monitor project files to ensure they are current, organized, and compliant with BIM standards
- Monitor cost and schedule of various projects to keep the coordination effort aligned with the project estimate
- Engage with customers on a regular basis to set expectations, maintain schedule, and process approvals
- Collaborate with internal departments (accounting, sales, estimating, procurement) to ensure projects stay within budget and on schedule
- Additional responsibilities as necessary
Skills:
- Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of BIM principles and data management
- Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings
- Experience with Bluebeam and Navisworks (or similar clash detection software)
- Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to visualize 3D geometry
- Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines
- Continuous improvement: ask questions and continually learn and adapt to changes in BIM technology
Experience:
- 3–5 years working with CAD and Revit/BIM in a professional AEC environment
- 3-5 years working with/reading architectural drawings
- Experience with exterior cladding or curtain wall systems preferred
- BS in Architecture, Construction Management, or 5 years equivalent work experience
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Qualifications:
A successful applicant is someone who possesses a high-level understanding of architectural drawings and contract documents with a mastery of BIM-driven workflows. Applicant must be proficient in both oral and written communication; expert in Revit/AutoCAD to prepare accurate, detailed models and drawings; and capable of establishing effective working relationships across departments and with customers. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage technical data across multiple projects simultaneously are a must.
