Primary Function: Assist the Director in supervising the implementation of program standards to ensure nutritionally sound programs which comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Record keeping and ability to produce reports along with basic understanding of required software. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree required with (Masters preferred) food service management, nutrition, dietetics, culinary arts, family and consumer science
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in school nutrition, food service industry, dietetics, culinary arts or family and consumer science.
Excellent communication and organization skills; holds a current Georgia drivers license and has reliable transportation

Assists in the planning, organization, hiring, and day-to-day operations of the School Nutrition Department
2.
Responsible for the development and implementation of a grade specific menu system that meets all Federal regulations and SNP quality standards.

Coordinates the evaluation of food products and the tasting/development of recipes based upon nutritional standards with an emphasis on quality, cost, customer preference, and ease of preparation.

Attends/conducts required local, district, state and national meetings, workshops, and training sessions necessary to meet program needs. Meets USDA's Professional Standards training requirements.

Responsible for a-la-carte program to include menu, sales, and marketing

Assists with the development and administration of the department budget

Attends school and community events to recruit potential employees for the School Nutrition Department
8.
Assists with annual program reviews in all schools and makes commendations and/or recommendations related to improvements
9.
Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plan for SNP program.
10.
Works with department employees and local school personnel regarding student/staff safety processes.
11.
Assists in the development/implementation of Food Service procedures, software, management information systems, and regularly communicates with all staff.
12.
Serves as liaison between department personnel, parents, district employees and the public at large
13.
Attends appropriate professional development programs and develops educational professional learning for SNP dept staff.
14.
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
