Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest experience
- Maintain organized restaurant table management systems to ensure timely seating and turnover
- Process customer transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale)
- Assist guests with menu inquiries, special requests, and provide exceptional guest services to foster a welcoming atmosphere
- Answer phone calls professionally, providing information about reservations, wait times, or general inquiries with proper phone etiquette
- Support food safety standards by communicating effectively with kitchen staff and ensuring cleanliness in the host station
Experience
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest relations positively and professionally
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems is a plus
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and managing cash register operations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Experience in hospitality or hotel environments is beneficial but not required; a passion for serving others is essential
