American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of OR experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a hospital Operating Room position in Normal, IL.

Hospital Operating Room (OR) setting
-
Day shift, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM, 4 days per week (10-hour shifts)
-
On-call required as part of the schedule
-
Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotation basis

Epic EMR required
-
13-week contract
-
Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience
-
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology certificate program
-
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
-
IDPH Fingerprinting required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Level 1 Trauma experience required
-
Applied knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
-
Familiarity with electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as they apply to surgical patient care
-
Competency in sterile technique and aseptic principles
-
License required if applicable

Functions as a first, second, or assisting Surgical Technologist under RN supervision during the intraoperative period

Applies principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures
-
Provides age-specific care to obstetrical patients per departmental policies and procedures
-
Assists with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment for an efficient OR environment
-
Participates in room turnover, setup, and instrument/sponge counts
-
Performs sterilization, disinfection, and documents loads per policy
-
Maintains and cleans equipment and identifies items needing repair
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
-
RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract

Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
