We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for multi-axis, horizontal, and sheet metal CNC equipment. This role will use CAD models and blueprints to create efficient programs, select tooling, troubleshoot machining issues, and support continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal equipment, including brake presses and turrets.
- Use CAD drawings and models to develop accurate programs and nesting layouts.
- Determine machining sequences, tooling, and setup requirements.
- Run simulations and test programs to ensure accuracy and performance.
- Maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and other programming documentation.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
- Ensure programs meet drawing specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of CNC programming experience; sheet metal experience strongly preferred.
- Experience programming CNC brake presses and turret machines.
- Proficiency with CAD and AP100US.
- Experience with CNC nesting and reading blueprints.
- Strong mathematical, measurement, and problem-solving skills, including fractions and decimals.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based role within a manufacturing facility with regular interaction with shop floor operations.
- Primarily sedentary with occasional walking and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Requires close visual attention to drawings, measurements, and computer screens.
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
