Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support, mentorship, and lived‑experience guidance to individuals with substance use and behavioral health challenges
- Assist individuals in identifying, developing, and achieving their personal recovery goals
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate support groups, recovery‑focused discussions, and educational sessions for individuals and their families
- Utilize motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive behavior change, empowerment, and self‑advocacy
- Support individuals in navigating the behavioral health system, recovery community, and community‑based resources
- Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and stabilization during periods of heightened distress
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of all services, interactions, and recovery‑support activities
Qualifications:

- Certification as a Peer Recovery Supporter (or equivalent Peer Specialist credential)
- Experience providing support to individuals with substance use disorders, particularly those in early recovery
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable and insured transportation
- Knowledge of peer support principles, recovery-oriented practices, and ethical guidelines
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and intervention strategies
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and active‑listening skills
- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting, recovery‑focused relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of addiction counseling and mental health counseling principles
- Ability to effectively participate in and advocate during the organization’s weekly Census Meeting
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, continuing education, and skill enhancement
