Nexus Government Solutions LLC is seeking skilled Facilities Maintenance Technicians to support retail store repair projects on a part time, as-needed basis. Technicians perform on-site assessments at retail locations and complete assigned work orders across multiple trades. Pay is per job completed, so your earnings scale with how many work orders you take on. Most techs complete 2 to 3 work orders per day at different sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct paid on-site condition assessments at retail store locations
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and on schedule
- Drywall repair and finishing
- Interior painting and touch-up
- Minor plumbing repairs (faucets, fixtures, leaks, toilets)
- Minor electrical work (fixtures, outlets, switches, ballasts)
- Flooring repair and installation (tile, VCT, LVP, carpet patching)
- Document completed work with before and after photos
- Communicate job status and material needs promptly
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or a skilled trade
- Must have own tools
- Must have own reliable transportation (travel between multiple sites daily)
- Smartphone for photo documentation and work order updates
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
Preferred
- Retail or commercial facility maintenance experience
- Experience with work order platforms (ServiceChannel, Corrigo, or similar)
- OSHA 10
Compensation Structure
- Minimum $125 per completed work order, some jobs pay more based on scope
- $65 to $90 per completed assessment
- $100/day minimum guarantee
- Work volume assigned based on your availability and location
