Title: In-Field Sales Inspector (Construction Background Required)
Schedule: 10-7 Saturday-Wednesday. Thursday & Friday off
MMPC is seeking an In-Field Sales Inspector to assess residential pest issues, identify structural vulnerabilities, and present solutions directly to clients. This role combines construction knowledge, problem-solving, and consultative sales.
We are looking for someone with hands-on construction experience who can evaluate repair needs, estimate materials, and confidently communicate solutions to homeowners.
This is a client-facing, field-based role across New York City.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential properties to identify pest activity, entry points, and structural vulnerabilities.
- Use construction knowledge to assess repair needs and estimate materials and labor required to resolve pest-related structural issues.
- Explain the problem and recommended solution clearly to homeowners.
- Present service proposals and close sales directly on-site.
- Install initial solutions when applicable (baiting, trapping, monitoring).
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, repair recommendations, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are processed quickly and services are scheduled efficiently.
- Travel throughout NYC using mass transit to meet clients and perform inspections.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of construction, carpentry, or general contracting experience.
- Ability to evaluate repair work and estimate material and labor costs based on field observations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to explain technical issues to homeowners in simple terms.
- Comfortable discussing pricing and selling services after completing inspections.
- Strong written and verbal English skills for reports and client communication.
- Ability to carry tools and equipment (20–30 lbs) and walk extensively throughout the day.
- High school diploma required.
- Pest control knowledge is not required; technical training will be provided.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a handyman, carpenter, home inspector, contractor, or maintenance technician.
- Experience in field sales or consultative sales.
- Familiarity with NYC residential buildings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Pay: $25
- Commission: Commission structure available after probationary period; additional bonus opportunities may apply.
