Duties
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical abilities and limitations.
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Implement physiotherapy interventions, including but not limited to trigger point therapy, orthopedics, and geriatrics.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment options, home exercises, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress using EMR systems.
- Work effectively with pediatric patients as well as adults in acute care settings.
- Engage in home & community care experiences to support patients transitioning from hospital to home environments.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience in physical therapy within inpatient, outpatient, or clinic settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and acute care protocols is essential.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required; experience with pediatrics is a plus.
- Previous work with geriatric populations is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to physiotherapy practices.
