About Us
Advisor Resource Council (ARC) is an SEC-registered Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) supporting a network of independent financial advisors with the resources, infrastructure, and community they need to grow their practices. We manage approximately $3B in assets under management across 80+ advisors, and we're built on partnership, collaboration, and empowerment — for our advisors and for our team.
We're looking for an Operations Manager to lead our Centralized Service and Client Services Team while staying hands-on in the work. This is a working-manager role for someone who leads by doing, not just directing — and beyond leading the team, you'll also take on a broader operational support function for the firm as a whole.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you'll manage the day-to-day operations of our Centralized Service and Client Services Team while personally sharing in Centralized Service responsibilities. You'll also own two of our most critical operational functions: Advisor Payroll and Advisory Billing (processed through Orion, our advisory billing platform), and you'll lead our advisor onboarding process as the project quarterback and single point of contact.
This role is ideal for someone who has real operational experience inside the RIA or broader financial services world, who documents processes as second nature, and who takes pride in running a tight, well-organized operation.
What You'll Do
- Manage and support the Centralized Service and Client Services Team, including workload distribution, quality of work, and day-to-day guidance
- Personally handle a share of Centralized Service work alongside the team you manage
- Own the Advisor Payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across pay cycles
- Manage Advisory Billing operations using Orion, including fee calculations, reconciliation, and issue resolution
- Build and maintain clear, thorough documentation for operational processes and procedures
- Lead advisor onboarding processes, ensuring new advisors are set up accurately and efficiently; serve as the project quarterback and single point of contact
- Provide ongoing support for advisor business and compensation needs by requesting and setting up unique Rep Identifiers to accommodate appropriate compensation and business splits
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce errors, and increase team efficiency
- Serve as a key point of operational knowledge for the team and a trusted partner to the COO
What We're Looking For
- Solid operational experience in the RIA industry or broader financial services/investment advisory world required
- Experience with advisor onboarding processes required
- Series 7 or Series 65/66 licensing required
- Excellent documentation skills — you naturally write things down clearly so others can follow and repeat a process
- Comfort managing a team while still doing hands-on work yourself
- Experience with custodians LPL and Schwab preferred — experience with either or both is a plus
- Working knowledge and experience with Orion, SmartRIA, Redtail, Monday.com, QuickBooks, and Claude is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with payroll and billing accuracy
- Clear, professional communication skills — you'll be working across advisors, staff, and leadership
Why ARC
- Be part of a collaborative team that genuinely supports independent advisors and each other
- Take ownership of meaningful, high-impact operational functions
- Work directly with firm leadership in a role with real influence over how the team operates
