Dental Practice Manager / Office Manager

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and patient-centered Dental Practice Manager to lead the daily operations of our privately owned dental practice. This is a hands-on leadership role that works directly with the doctor to ensure the practice achieves its operational, financial, and patient care goals.

The ideal candidate is an experienced dental office manager or practice manager with strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a proven ability to build a positive team culture while maintaining excellent patient relationships. This individual will oversee all aspects of practice operations, including team leadership, human resources, financial performance, treatment acceptance, patient experience, and day-to-day business operations.
ResponsibilitiesPractice Leadership & Daily Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the dental practice to ensure efficiency, productivity, and an exceptional patient experience
- Partner directly with the doctor to establish and achieve practice goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor office performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement systems that promote continued growth
- Ensure consistency in office policies, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Lead by example and foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Team Leadership & Human Resources
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new team members
- Provide coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support employee growth, provide feedback, and establish clear performance expectations
- Hold team members accountable to individual and practice-wide key performance indicators (KPIs), including attendance, productivity, patient experience, and clinical and administrative goals
- Monitor team performance and use metrics to identify opportunities for coaching and improvement
- Manage employee scheduling and staffing levels to support efficient operations
- Address employee performance concerns through coaching, corrective action, and when necessary, disciplinary action and termination
- Lead regular team meetings that promote accountability, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performing culture where team members feel supported while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability
Financial Performance & Practice Metrics
- Monitor and manage key practice metrics, including:
- Production
- Collections
- Treatment acceptance
- Accounts receivable
- Hygiene and doctor scheduling efficiency
- Staffing productivity and labor costs
- Analyze practice reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and patient satisfaction
- Develop and implement action plans to improve practice performance and achieve growth goals
- Review financial reports with the doctor and help execute strategies that support long-term success
Treatment Coordination & Patient Financial Services
- Present treatment plans clearly and confidently to patients
- Help patients understand their clinical needs, insurance benefits, and financial responsibilities
- Guide patients through payment options and financing solutions, including CareCredit and Cherry
- Support high treatment acceptance through exceptional communication and relationship-building
- Assist with accounts receivable, collections, and financial follow-up as needed
Patient Experience
- Lead the practice in delivering an outstanding customer experience at every patient interaction
- Set the standard for exceptional hospitality and ensure every patient feels welcomed, respected, and cared for
- Resolve patient concerns professionally, compassionately, and efficiently
- Create systems that improve communication, efficiency, and overall patient satisfaction
- Ensure every patient receives a personalized experience from their first phone call through completion of treatment
Qualifications
- Previous dental office management or dental practice management experience preferred
- Previous treatment coordination experience with a proven history of high treatment acceptance
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Experience using key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve production, collections, treatment acceptance, patient satisfaction, and overall practice growth
- Experience hiring, onboarding, coaching, and managing team members
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, accounts receivable, collections, and patient financing
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, integrity, and accountability
- Experience with CareCredit, Cherry, and dental practice management software preferred

Compensation
$38–$50 per hour, depending on experience, leadership background, and demonstrated success managing dental practice operations.
Candidates with extensive practice management experience, a proven ability to lead and develop teams, and a history of achieving strong production, collections, treatment acceptance, patient experience, and staffing metrics will be considered toward the top of the pay range.
We also welcome experienced dental office managers and treatment coordinators who are ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role and are excited to grow with our practice.
Additional performance-based bonus opportunities may be available based on achievement of practice goals, including collections, production, treatment acceptance, patient experience, and team performance.
