Role Description
PASSUR Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and independent Field Technician I to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our airport hardware systems across the United States. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to operate effectively at airport sites with minimal supervision and in a timely matter. In this role, successful candidates will also be able to remotely support our clients across the United States with day-to-day hardware issues and basic instruction and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will also configure, program, and prepare hardware systems for deployment as new customer orders are received at the main office. They will ensure that all devices are fully operational, tested, and ready for shipment in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair airport hardware infrastructure, including vehicle tracking systems, noise monitoring terminals, and their supporting components.
- Perform onsite and remote field troubleshooting and diagnostics to ensure equipment functionality.
- Interact with airport personnel to coordinate maintenance and installation of hardware at customer locations, maintaining professionalism with the client throughout the process.
- Maintain detailed service records, images, and documentation of all work performed.
- Take full ownership of designated remote client troubleshooting tickets and hardware requests, bringing them to a successful resolution
- Travel to airport sites across the U.S., possibly on short notice, to maintain field systems (60%+ travel required).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Work independently in a fast-paced airport environment.
- Ability to adapt in the field, usually under tight time constraints and client schedules.
- Ability to work with flexible schedules and availability to be on-call outside normal business hours.
- Performs other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable skills installing and troubleshooting electronic equipment and cabling outdoors and within vehicles.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; experience with cabling and electrical power is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with airport personnel
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs with equipment when needed.
- Ability, without restriction, to rent vehicles at different locations.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Installing vehicle stereo/radio cabling – specifically installing to work within given vehicle power constraints.
- Working as a Field or Service Technician.
- Installing and debugging ADS-B receivers and remotely networked hardware
- Working with airport operations or aviation-related equipment
- The ability to interpret customer information and feedback and translate that into actional tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
