Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Professional to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Duties
- Conduct thorough client assessments, including diagnostic evaluations utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding standards, to determine treatment needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions employing behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and addiction counseling techniques.
- Facilitate child & family counseling sessions to support clients’ support systems and promote holistic recovery.
- Manage crisis intervention and crisis management situations with professionalism, ensuring client safety and stabilization during emergencies.
- Coordinate home & community care services, including case management, to extend treatment beyond clinical settings and foster community integration.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to clinical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology requirements within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to support evidence-based practice improvements and quality assurance initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, including co-occurring mental health conditions such as PTSD or behavioral health issues.
- Strong background in psychotherapy, addiction medicine, mental health counseling, and behavioral health interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform client assessments in therapy settings, utilizing tools like ICD coding, CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation methods.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management and clinical documentation compliance.
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and populations in various settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or community-based programs.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies, crisis management protocols, and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
