Bio-Synthesis, Inc. is seeking an oligonucleotide production chemist with MS or PhD degree in organic/medicinal chemistry with several years of experience in academia or industry to run a small to middle scale oligo or peptide synthesis facility. The successful individual will play an integral role in a small team of scientists working on phosphoramidite technology development. You will be expected to perform under minimal supervision and be capable of having a steep learning curve in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications: MS or PhD degree in Chemistry, medicinal or related disciplines.
Key skills and Primary duties:
- Perform synthesis, purification, and analysis of oligonucleotides including DNA, RNA and modified oligos or peptides.
- Cleavage & deprotection, desalting and purification of oligonucleotides.
- Packaging of synthetic oligonucleotides or peptides
- Maintenance of oligo synthesizers, HPLC and desalting units in the laboratory.
- Ability to maintain, calibrate and operate various types of small lab equipment.
- Strong quantitative skills and excellent knowledge of Excel and data analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential in our collaborative work environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description.
- Experience of working in small companies is a plus.
Work authorization in the USA is required.
