Fundraising Assistant – Part-Time
20 Hours/Week | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM | In Person | $18/hour
The Youth Center is a 74-year-old nonprofit organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and teens ages 5–18. We are looking for a friendly, organized, outgoing, and dependable person to join our team as a Part-Time Fundraising Assistant.
No fundraising experience is required! We are happy to teach you the skills you need to be successful. What matters most is your personality, organization, communication skills, willingness to learn, and can-do attitude.
This could be a great opportunity for a parent whose children are in school during the day, a PTA parent who enjoys being involved in the community, or a college student taking classes in the evenings and looking for meaningful daytime work.
What You'll Do
You will help with fundraising, events, and community outreach. Your responsibilities may include:
- Follow up with businesses and community members regarding donations and sponsorships by email and phone
- Make comfortable, friendly sales and sponsorship calls
- Help create donation and sponsorship requests
- Assist with our four major fundraising events: Christmas Tree Lot, Golf Tournament, Annual Campaign, Crystal Hearts Ball
- Help create and organize auction, raffle, and silent auction baskets
- Assist with event preparation and enjoy being part of our events
- Help communicate with donors, sponsors, parents, volunteers, and community partners
- Enter and maintain information in our donor database/CRM
- Assist with social media, including Facebook and Instagram
- Use AI tools to help with research, writing, ideas, and fundraising projects
- Help with other fundraising and administrative projects as needed
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized
- A strong and friendly communicator , and comfortable meeting new people
- A quick learner who is willing to be trained
- Positive and energetic with a can-do attitude
- Willing to ask for donations and sponsorships
- Creative and enjoys putting together fun fundraising baskets
- Comfortable using email and basic computer programs
- Familiar with basic social media, especially Facebook and Instagram
- Open to learning and using AI tools
- Able to work independently while also being part of a small team
Compensation & Schedule
- 20 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
- In-person position
- Starting pay: $18/hour
- Performance evaluation at 6 months
- Opportunity to increase to $19/hour following a successful evaluation
